Parish Magazine – July/August 2023

Good Afternoon,

The double summer issue of the parish Mag is here!

Lots of interesting articles to keep you busy over the summer and lots of time to think about what you might want to include for September. Anything interesting youve discovered on your summer holidays you want to tell people about?

Hope you enjoy this one.
Thank you for your continued support.

Picnic in the Park

Saturday 26th August

11am -4pm

The Parish is providing large games for the Meltham Picnic in the Park and St. James’ will provide a quiet space in church.  We will need help setting up the games at 9.30am.  From 11am we need people to chat to the adults and children who come to play the games and people to be in church for anyone who wants to come for a time of reflection.  If you can help with the games at some point during the day, please email Alison Whiteley: alisonwhiteley@ntlworld.com  If you could spend some time in church, please email Jenny Mathers: jennymthrs@aol.com.

Meltham Mustard Seed – Coffee Morning and Sponsored Walk – Sat 15th July 2023

Meltham Churches Together MELTHAM MUSTARD SEED.

Coffee Morning and Sponsored Walk.

SATURDAY 15th JULY

Coffee 9:30 St Bartholomew’s church hall followed at 1:00 by an approximate 5 mile walk around Meltham. Sponsor forms available in Meltham churches and Crossroads Centre, email jane@collinsemail.co.uk or download here:

Please support by coming along or sponsoring a walker on this final MMS walk. Since 1997 the coffee morning and walk have raised a staggering £33,886.34 to help support the education and kindred foster care of the orphans in Kyema Uganda. As Meltham withdraws at the end of this year 2023 we pray for the future of the sustainability program. Some current supporters are continuing to help this program. Please contact Jane Collins if you would like more information.

Our celebrations last year included Edison Baguma who graduated in business administration. Kato Stephens qualified as a nurse and is now under internship and Baikem Atugoza achieved a diploma in civil engineering.

Evas, visiting mother and Justus KMS at the MMS 12 ha sugar field. Harvested early 2023. This sugar investment and investment in buying land to build rental properties is the hope to sustain the future of kindred foster care.
