Barbecue time!
Hi everyone,
Debbie and I are hosting a church family social bar b cue for the Parish.
Monday 22nd August from 5pm onwards at 127 Slaithwaite Rd, HD9 5RW
We are going to keep it simple. The Bar b will be alight, 4 ft deep swimming pool plus a trampoline for children and adults that have not lost their inner child.
Bring and share food and drink.
Stay as long as you like. Quiet time from 10.00 out of respect for neighbours. Aim for a nice informal social time.
Please share widely. We don’t want people to feel left out or uninvited. We do intend to use this opportunity to gauge who is interested in the possibility of forming some housegroups .
Come and enjoy our beautiful garden and views. We are so blessed and want to share them.

Picnic in the Park
Saturday 27th August
11am – 4pm
The Parish is once again providing large outdoor games in the park and also the opportunity to write a prayer lily.
Coffee and cake will be served in St. James’ Church.
Cakes are needed and the cost of ingredients can be reimbursed.
Volunteers are needed to serve the cakes in the church and to chat to people as they play the games or write a prayer.
Help in setting up the games from 9.30am will also be valuable.
If you can help for any part of the day, please email:
alisonwhiteley@ntlworld.com or mike_still@hotmail.com
The games have proved very popular at the last events and, as ever, many hands make light work!
