Queen Elizabeth II will be remembered through Books of Condolence which will be placed at St Bartholomew’s Church and the Carlile Institute in #Meltham for people to sign from 9.00am today (Friday 9th September).

Flowers will be laid at St Bartholomew’s Church – 9:30am.

May the soul of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II rest in peace and rise in glory. May light perpetual shine upon her. We also pray for our new King Charles III

Prayers for the Queen – St Bartholomew’s Church, Meltham – Thurs 8th Sept 6pm – 7pm

Due to the concerns for her health, St Bartholomew’s Church in #Meltham will be open between 6:00 and 7:00pm this evening (Thurs 8th September) for those who may wish to offer prayers for Her Majesty the Queen.

The Archbishop of Cantebury Justin Welby said earlier today ”My prayers, and the prayers of people across the Church of England, and the nation, are with Her Majesty The Queen today. May God’s presence strengthen and comfort Her Majesty, her family, and those who are caring for her at Balmoral.”

In the coming days we will offer additional opportunities to pray depending upon further announcements from the palace.

MMS is in the final 2 years of supporting orphans in Kyema Uganda in its present format. Our aim is that the young adults in Kyema MS, themselves recipients of MMS support in the past, will take over. With the last 2 years of investment in sugar growing, we want to make funds available to help make the project self sustainable.

CELEBRATING 26 YEARS!!!

A HOPE FOR SUSTAINABILITY through the previous recipients of MMS

-KMSYA Kyema Mustard Seed Young Adults.

KMSYA themselves are keen to help more orphans to benefit from foster care and education –

·       Since February 2019, Sugar growing as income generation to continue the project as Meltham MS withdraws in its current form at end of 2023.

·       KMSYA planted their own funded 1.5hectares sugar, harvested (2021) bringing in a better than expected income.

·       2.1 hectares sugar, harvested and processed (2022)

·       12 h growing well, to be harvested 2022

A REMINDER that all MMS orphans are fostered by relatives – KINDRED FOSTER CARE. This ethos is promoted throughout the world as the best care for orphaned children. Being cared for in their own culture, in their own environment, among people who hopefully best understand them and their needs.

Since 1996, 48 orphans have passed through Mustard Seed. Currently there are 30 children in the project (78 in total) supported at various levels of education.

THANK YOU

Parish Magazine – July & August 2022 (double issue)

It’s a double issue and what a bumper issue it is! We have increased this issue by 4 pages due to all the submissions received. Thank you very much I couldn’t have done it without you all! There are some that I couldn’t fit into this issue, but don’t worry I will ensure they get included in future editions.
This edition, however is full of the success of the Queen’s Jubilee (pg 30 & 2) and St Mary’s Flower festival (pg 34). There is exciting news on the centre page from Chris Dronsfield and more from Jenny on our new feature ‘Going Greener’ (pg 9).

Please continue to send in your submissions for the September issue, which will have to be delayed due to the summer break.

The next deadline of the magazine will be:
Friday 26th August 2022
Please send them via:
