What are Fellowship Fridays?  Read on, and you’ll find out………………………

These are new sessions that will take place in the parish at #Meltham Church Hall between 18.00 and 19.30 on Friday evenings, aiming to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for anyone who’d like to come and share food, socialise, explore and talk about their faith with friends. 

There is no cost to attend, although donations towards expenses will be gratefully accepted. 

There will be two different sessions………….

Come & Dine Church: 2nd Friday of the month – launches on Friday, 13th February  

Come together to share a simple cooked meal—examples include shepherd’s pie or chicken casserole. Following the meal, there will be time to discuss and explore a biblical topic using a video to stimulate thinking, to pray together, and to enjoy each other’s company. While teenagers/young adults are welcome, there are no specific activities provided for children under 11. 

We will pilot this over six sessions on the 2^nd Friday of each month:  13th February, 13th March, 10th April, 8th May, 12th June, 10th July 

Pizza Church: 3rd Friday of the month – launches on Friday, 20th February 

Similar in spirit to the one above, Pizza Church will serve finger food such as pizza or hot dogs. In addition to discussion, prayer, and socialising for the adults, there will be a fun activity planned for children during the discussion time. However, please note that Pizza Church is not just for people who’ll bring children—anyone is welcome to attend. 

We will pilot this over three sessions on the 3^rd Friday of each month:  20th February, 20th March, 17th April.

We hope that members from across the 4 churches will embrace this new initiative and come along to join together for fellowship in this new setting, and that it will quickly become a firm favourite on everyone’s monthly calendar.

Come along to the joint Covenant Service, an annual Methodist tradition which has become a favourite with all the Meltham Churches worshipping together.  This is a service at which we can celebrate together all that God has done for us and affirm that we give our lives and choices to God. A great opportunity for us to worship together and keep warm together.

Join us on Christmas day in the parish of #Meltham to celebrate the birth of Jesus!
Service times and locations are as follows:

10:00am St James’ Church, Meltham Mills.
11:15am St Mary’s Church, Wilshaw.

Please note there will be no morning service at St Bartholomew’s, Meltham as it will have already taken place on Christmas eve – 11:30pm start. No service either at Helme Church.

If you’ve always fancied giving it a go, but maybe been too scared – now’s your chance!

Join us to at this special late night service of Holy Communion on Christmas eve as we celebrate the birth and welcome Jesus! There will be carols, prayers and Holy Communion. ALL WELCOME.

The service starts at 11:30pm – we aim for the service to last no more than 1 hour so everyone can get home in reasonable time (including the Vicar).

Toilets are available for those who might need one!

Join us at Christ Church, Helme for a forest church Christingle! Saturday 20th December at 4pm.

An interactive event with all the elements of a traditional Christingle but also using our senses to engage with God and the world around us. Meet inside church before stepping outside to follow the Christingle trail. We’ll finish off by lighting our Christingles in church and singing our new Christingle Jingle followed by lovely warm hot chocolate!

Don’t forget to wrap up, wear some boots or wellies, maybe bring an umbrella and a torch!!
