IT’S HARVEST TIME IN #MELTHAM!

Join us for our Harvest Festivals across the Parish this Sunday (7th October).

It’s the Season of Invitation so bring all the family, neighbours and friends too!

11:15 – St Mary’s – Wilshaw
11:15 – Christ Church – Helme

We shall be collecting items for the Meltham Food Bank where stocks are currently very low!
Items can be brought to any of the churches or the Crossroads shop.

The food bank is particularly in need of Tins of Meats, Tins of Fish, Tins of Vegetables, Tins of Potatoes, and Instant potato, Tins of Baked beans, Pasta and pasta sauces. Any other tinned foods would be appreciated.

PLEASE PRAY for all those affected by the various storms, hurricanes and land slides across the world recently. Pray for those who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods, that people would be able to rebuild, recover and heal with God’s help and strength.

Learn how to save a life – free CPR and defibrillator training in #Meltham on Thursday 20 September – 7:30pm @ The Carlile Institute.  Organised by the Town Council.  The session will be run by a Yorkshire Ambulance first aid responder.  Please share and join the session if you can make it – it might just save a life!

PLEASE PRAY for our Government, for our Prime Minister, for the people who lead us and for our nation. Pray for wisdom during difficult decisions and circumstances. Pray for conviction, for peace and for God to be at the centre of it all.

Let us remember that it is not just at the point of salvation that we are to deny ourselves and take up our cross(v34), but daily. Being a disciple means we must access ourselves regularly and continue to align our hearts with His.

PLEASE PRAY for the children as they have returned to school this week. Pray for their year ahead, for protection, for success, for better understanding and growth, but also for them to have fun and to have the right balance of rest and motivation.

@AroundMeltham – The Civic Service will take place at St Bartholomew’s tomorrow @ 10:45am (Sun 9 Sep) when we shall be joined by Meltham Town Council and the new Mayor of Meltham, Cllr David Haigh. We’ll also be joined by other community groups – please join us – ALL WELCOME.  The Parade with @MelthamBand will leave Carlile St at 10:30am.

We’ll also be welcoming the new Vicar of Meltham – Rev’d John Dracup who will be joining us for his first service following his licensing earlier in the week.

There will be no other morning services in the Parish except for Holy Communion at St Bart’s at 9am and 5-Alive at St James’ – Meltham Mills at 5pm.
