Meltham Treat Fest. A night for fun – and light! Monday 31st October.
Accompanied children of primary school age are invited to drop in to the church hall any time between 5:30pm and 7:00pm. There’ll be: big games, little games, crafts and treats, hot choc and maybe more!
All treats, no tricks – apart from the trick on the parents of giving the kids a sugar high 🙂
Meltham Parish Magazine – November 2022 – The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it!
Hopefully, you are are sitting comfy and wrapped in your blanket (cos no one wants to put the heating on yet with the current energy prices!) and ready to immerse yourself in news from the Parish of #Meltham. The Crossroads have been really busy so catch up on their news and their 30 seconds of fame!
There are lots of events happening on the run up to Christmas, so make sure they are all ready in your diary. Helme Ladies have lots to catch us up on having missed the last edition and there’s some great tips on saving energy around your home.
Please continue to send in your submissions for the magazine, we really couldn’t make this magazine what it is without you!
Do you enjoy singing? Would you like to meet some new people? Then why not come along to ‘Singing for Health’? Thursdays from 1.30 – 3pm in the Jubilee Room of the Carlile Institute. There’s an accessible lift should you need it. We sing a variety of songs from different eras and you don’t have to be able to read music. We also stop for a chat and a cup of tea! You can try your 1st session for free then each one costs £4.
Here are some comments from people who attend: It’s the best day of the week. I love singing the songs. It’s the perfect antidote to lockdown. It’s a friendly group and everyone is made welcome. I can’t sing for toffee! There is no pressure. I always feel uplifted.
It would be lovely to see you there! For more details contact Kate Buchanan on 07780 548689 or email katebuchanan57@gmail.com
There is an opportunity on Monday 24th October at 8pm for people to meet to discuss what they would want out of a housegroup. It is likely that we would meet twice a month. We are meeting at 6 Woodland Walk. It might be advisable to bring a torch/mobile phone as the estate still doesn’t have lighting.
Welcome to our tribute edition of the magazine to our Queen Elizabeth, who was an example to us all of how to live our lives in service to others. London seemed so far away, but with the help of Richard Noon and others you will see, we were able to say ‘Goodbye’ in our own Meltham way.
I would also like to apologise for not updating the parish registers over the summer. This was an oversight and are now included in this months edition. As we settle into the autumn months we can read about how the Crossroads continue to help those who need it. There are new events happening like Alpha and also a sneak peek as to what you can expect in the run up to Christmas.

You can also find here, a copy of the September magazine which unfortunately didn’t get posted last month, but still worth a look if you didn’t manage to get to see a copy. Apologies from the webmaster for that.
